About Me

Hi there - I’m Madison. Chief Creator of The Structured Artist. After my father retired from the Air Force, my family settled in North Carolina. It was here that I studied Studio Art and Interior Design. After a myriad of jobs throughout college (including Restoration Hardware design associate, Anthropologie window display intern, gallery work…), I set off for Texas to do - you guessed it - pharmaceutical events. While this completely prepared me for the regimented corporate events and marketing world - it was too rigid for me.

Soon enough, my husband and I moved back to Raleigh (since this place has a beauty about it we couldn’t shake - except for the autumn leaves…that’s a love-hate relationship). Here, I took on another corporate job - one where creative freedom found its form. But as always, there was still the need for metrics and sales. I just wanted my events to be more than that. To have more heart.

Well, the timing was all there - God knew my path. My husband and I had our first daughter in the heat of the 2020 pandemic, and I left my corporate America job to be a stay-at-home mom. Being home with my daughter helped me remember things I had always valued but sometimes pushed aside. I was reminded of when I studied in Italy and saw what time meant with the people you love. Tradition met the untraditional. Being casual but refined struck its perfect balance. That is what I aim to showcase in my events. I learned the rules, so now I can see when and where to break them.
